Do You Want To Die Because Thats How You Die

LOL, I hate when people skip all the previous posts and reset a discussion from zero. :DeadSmile1:

I had a simple Question.
Obviously the answer is "Its not possible"

Offering me now worse sollutions as the one i allready choose does not help in any way.
Ignoring the issue that the Bridge doesnt stay reliable open with 2 Sensors is not solving the issue.
And sure can it happen that you stand on the bridge, maybe because you are distracted, maybe because a Spider zombie jumped into your front and blocks you, maybe because you are just stunned.

I just recorded another video showing that it works with motion sensors. The gate only bounces once you're off it, because the sensor on the other side can still see you, but the one on your side can't anymore. You'll see.

Works fine, zero chance of dropping you unless you do something horrendously stupid somehow. No timers involved.

But since you're being an asshat and insisting it's not possible when people have already explained how to do it, you can figure out how I did it your damn self.

Probably will still come back and say it's not working. lol

That's fine. The video is proof it can be done. If it's not working for him at this point we all know it's user error.

yep.

Well that is a video that answers my initial question i searched a answer for.
Not optimal because of the wiggling when you come in sensorrange, but if i would have not solved it in the meantime i guess i would have done that after watching the video.

Btw. this is a nice video, plain and simple on point
Thanks for that

Btw maybe rename the Video to "7D2D Powered Drawbridge"
It gives more informations than all other videos i saw, so maybe it shows up when someone googles the same

What the OP is looking for has been done inside many survival series videos by popular 7D2D content creators, and not necessarily tutorial vids. It can also be designed easily in a creative world with a little trial and error.
But hey, let's blame YouTube.

The problem is that if you use more than one sensor that moment one senssor loose the line of sight the bridge closes.

get me right i have it with one sensor working, not how i want it but at least usable.
Using durations on these triggers make it even worse

try turning the settings in the camera from powering the drawbridge when it sees you, to powering it for a few seconds to give you time to leave. i do that with my garage door because i have my drawbridge set up to a switch that also supplies power to the turrets guarding my door

Believe it or not i tried it for over a hour, and i tried many many camer positions, but i never had even the udea to place one camera on the Plateau

And its not the first time that i searched something for a game and as result google showed me only 2 things
1: Videos that didnt answer the question (even if the title was about the question)
2: Forum Threads that had as only answers "Google it"

No matter how the question is, no one on the search for a information want it burried in a 30+ Minute Video

I couldn't agree more.

Not trying to diss anyone's favorite YouTuber, they're great and can be highly entertaining, and there are some excellent guides out there. But I've lost track of how many times I've sat through 30 minutes of banter and gameplay before realizing my answer wasn't coming, or it was for an older version and the info no longer applies.

Same goes for the wiki, very out of date and full of holes. (Which is nobody's fault, to be fair. )

Save yourself the headache. Place The bridge on a timer. Only give power from 400 to 2200. Set up an SMG on both sides of bridge. Have a powered Gate controlled by same timer. When its daytime the smg"s will keep wanderers off bridge. At night when things get interesting. Door and gate close automatically. If you have a deep drop pit. Have turrets turn off to save ammo from 2200 to 400.
Me personally the motion sensors feel janky. i avoid em. Timers work every time as intended. I control doors hatches with em. Plus on Hord night i use em to alternate Autoguns to conserve ammo.

As i said finally i found a way to make it work 100% even if it denies me to make a ramp to the right side (i guess i would need to make the Plateau T Shaped for that)

I moved the ladder so far to the left that the Drawbridge no longer interrupts the line of sight of the camera. With other words the Drawbridge stays down no matter where you stand or move on the plateau, bridge or base (next to the bridge)

I hated the "wiggle" too, so I used 3 sensors on my drawbridge setup - one looking at the outside approach, 1 looking straight down at the door threshold, 1 looking at the inside approach. Just had to tweak the field of views so they all overlapped a bit and no more platform jitter when transitioning from outside to inside or vice versa.

Yeah, I was planning to do a video with 4 cameras to eliminate "wiggle" altogether. It could honestly be done with just two cameras, except that the crucial problem is you can't have a relay between the cameras (Or any other kind of sensor) if you want them to work together. They have to be wired directly to each other in series, in which case they act as a logical group where if any one of them triggers, power flows through the whole group. If you put a relay or anything else in between though, then any sensors after the relay are only powered when the first sensor is powered, and it doesn't work.

So you need more than two cameras to get enough distance between them for smooth operation.
